about
Some days you think: “Is this all worth it?” Promoters and agents don’t answer emails, 11 hour drives through the snow from Lyon to Liege to play a gig with a cough and a cold when you’d rather be wrapped up in bed at home, etc.
And then you get an email from Dave Bundy of Lincoln, Nebraska. “Sorry to take up your time as I know you are busy but I just wanted to let you know that I have to drive two times a week, eight hours each way to Minnesota for my cancer treatment and your music keeps me going”.
I mean, wow, that’s worth it.
And so began my, as of now, entirely email relationship with the most positive man I know. A man who lives with cancer lurking in his stomach, but who takes each day as it comes, seeing the positive in everything.
Here’s my humble tribute to him.
lyrics
Dave's on the road again like every other day
playing his music on the way
He plays it to make him feel alive as he would say
He’s going to beat this thing OK
Life’s been good so far he can say he’s blessed
He’s had some bonus years and that’s success
So what tomorrow will bring, it will bring, who can say
And so he lives for today, in every way, and that’s the way he’ll stay
He walks in the hospital like every other day
Says hi to the nurses on the way
He waits for the news to see if everything’s ok
He feels in his bones it is today
The tests are good they say he’s clear for now
A lease of life he’ll celebrate and how
So what tomorrow will bring, it will bring, who can say
And so he lives for today, in every way, and that’s the way he’ll stay
He’ll stay strong, if he may, and that’s the way, he’ll be ok
He’ll fight for life, with all his might, and with all his might
He’ll seize the day
The UK's best looking and most superb proponents of heavy melody power pop punk. Based around former member of Joey Ramone's
favourite UK, band The Boys, Duncan Reid and the Big Heads have been ripping it up on all corners of the globe except most of them. Catch them if you can!...more
Reminds us that rock ‘n roll was invented by and for kids for pleasure. Great fun, like a cross between The Nerves and The Ramones. Radio Free Americana

The UK punks' capacity for merging the personal, political, and parochial is so well-developed that it borders on the alchemical. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 7, 2022
