about

What an easy joy. The first song Alex Gold and I wrote together.
Normally, I like to work everything out in advance, refining and refining, toiling and toiling. Alex made me do it his way, spur of the moment. He brought the verse, the rest we made up on the spot in 20 minutes. Much easier.
The idea behind the lyrics was mine. If we learned in the haze of a hangover that the world was ending on Tuesday would it be a relief or would we worry about irrelevances? Alex had the idea about trying to get a deposit back on a holiday. Wonderful notion.

lyrics

The weather man's going crazy
He told us why but it's hazy
Something odd bout the ozone
Something bout fire and brimstone?

Looks like Gods had enough of
All our sinning and free love
He loves us all but our times up
Which represents quite a hiccup!

oh oh well
Off to hell

What's that you say
No time to pray
It's just the end of the world
No cares today
No bills to pay
It's just the end of the world

They say it ending this Tuesday
Armageddon and doomsday
Wonder if I can reclaim
What I paid on the holiday

Oh oh well
Time will tell

What's that you say.......

Looks like the world's going nuts
Even the corner shop's shut
There's just a sign on the door
Please help yourself gone to Lahore
