Rio de Janeiro is one hell of a sight
The hills start to sparkle as the day turns to night
And high up in the heavens
Jesus keeps a watchful eye

Copacabana where the rich people play
Everything's for sale if you've money to pay
But high in the favelas
Poor folk try to make ends meet

Was there we took a taxi to the rough end of town
Had to pay the driver more to take us around
To a bar in a street where the buildings come tumbling down

Was then a bald guy headed over the street
