I’m a grandad and it’s brilliant. There are so many parallels with being a father. It’s the women’s choice when it happens, hoping and praying, while the body clock ticks, that their dream will come true. For men it’s the day you realise you must grow up, much against your will.
Being a grandad is better. Being presented with a stinky baby and the suggestion you might change the nappy its easy to say: “Grandad’s don’t do that”!
